Back Bay

Back Bay which was built on landfill is an upscale residential area dominated by Victorian brownstones; Newbury and Boylston streets have many exclusive shops and fine restaurants with outdoor seating in the summer, wonderful for people-watching. Like elsewhere in Boston it is steeped in history, with Trinity Church in Copley Square and the Boston Public Library on the opposite side. Copley Square hosts a Farmers Market and outdoor concerts and festivities in the summer.
